Live working sessions

Live Scaling Up and Selling Up sessions for Irish business owners

Two sessions, twenty seats each, run by Tommy Boyle, advisor to over 200 Irish companies since 1995.

Both sessions run live on Teams for two hours, both cost €299 plus VAT, and both include a private 30-minute one-to-one with Tommy on your own business afterwards. Take one on its own or take them in order.

Some owners want to grow the business first and sell it later. Others are already quietly preparing an exit. Plenty are still deciding which one it is, and that is a fair place to be sitting when you book. No retainer, no ongoing programme, no success fee. You deal with Tommy directly, and the session is specific to your business, not a generic workshop.

Scaling Up

A live Scaling Up session for Irish business owners turning over €1m to €10m

The constraints that stall a business between €1m and €10m.

  • The real constraints holding your business back, named and ranked, not the ones you assumed.
  • A working approach to price, margin and cash that holds as the business grows.
  • An honest read on whether your current team, structure and systems can carry the next stage.
  • The personal shift the next stage asks of you, from doing the work to leading the people who do it.

Selling Up

A live Selling Up session for Irish business owners weighing a future sale

What a buyer pays for, and what they quietly discount.

  • An honest view of what your business is likely worth today, and the gap to the number you want.
  • The three or four levers most likely to move that valuation between now and a sale.
  • How a sale process actually unfolds, and the points where owners typically lose money in it.
  • A sense of timing you can act on: the next 90 days, the next 12 months, and the year before market.

How they fit together

Grow it first, then sell it well. The second session assumes the first.

Step one

Scaling Up

Find the three or four constraints holding the business back and fix them in the right order. Build a business that runs without you carrying it.

Read the outline

Step two

Selling Up

Once the business stands on its own, work out what a buyer will pay for it, what they will quietly discount, and how to close the gap before you go to market.

Read the outline

Owners who take both usually leave a year between them. The first one changes how the business runs. The second one changes what it is worth.

Bring your number two

Two seats from the same business, 15% off both.

Most owners get more out of a session when the person who has to carry the plan is in the room with them. Book two seats together and both come down to €254 plus VAT. Add the second name at checkout, or email Tommy and he will set it up.

What owners say

Brave enough to say what nobody else in the room is willing to say.

Tommy is an indispensable business advisor. He brings a refreshing no-nonsense approach and is brave enough to say what nobody else in the room is willing to say, but could be the most important thing that needs to be said. He can instantly move from a broad, macro approach on sales and marketing strategy, to giving excellent guidance on the nitty gritty and spotting a small, but critical detail on a financial report. Before working with Tommy a friend said to me, if you don't have Tommy advising your business, you're losing out. He is highly insightful and has an ability to quickly get to the crux of the issue. Very highly recommended. The proof is in the pudding and Tommy was instrumental in helping to more than double the level of business.
